Ah New York New York, a lot of hip-hop talent making noise as of late, but one rapper in particular is starting to blow up, and that is Bronx-born, Brooklyn-raised rapper Scar Lip!

Born Sierra Lucas, Scar Lip (23) has definitely crossed over from being viral on social media to dropping bangers and staying booked and busy.

Being backed by rap Legends such as Busta Rhymes, Jadakiss, Cardi B. and many more isn't bad either.

Besides her dope bars and in-your-face delivery, Scar Lip is not shy about sharing her early struggles in life with us, such as losing her mom, living through abuse as a teen, and bouncing through foster care. Some listeners can easily relate and want to support.

Recently  Busta Rhymes' showed Scar Lip MAD LOVE at his "Blockbusta" GRAMMY Awards Appreciation Celebration telling his audience that the first thing they were going to do was acknowledge that Scar Lip has experienced a lot of pain in life, and the second thing they were going to do was celebrate her “bounce back” from all that pain.

It was a beautiful moment shared between the two. (You can see the clip down below)

She's definitely doing her thing and catching the attention of all the right people.

Just a few weeks ago IHeart radio named Scar Lip one of "24 Rising Hip-Hop Artists To Watch In 2024"

Writing - "ScarLip has been embraced by numerous heavy hitters in Hip-Hop ever since she dropped breakthrough singles like "Glizzy Gobbler" and "This Is New York. The Bronx native's grizzley flows and vicious lyrics have reminded some fans of the late DMX --- an artist who she's previously cited as an influence. Throughout her brief time in the spotlight, she's garnered respect from Swizz Beatz, Cardi B and so many other revered hitmakers. She's yet to falter since she blew up. After signing a fresh deal with Epic Records last year, ScarLip continued her winning streak with hits like "No Statements," "Blick" with NLE Choppa and her collaboration with Snoop Dogg "This Is Cali." As 2024 gets underway, fans are expecting more new music and hunting for clues about ScarLip's anticipated debut album."

On March 2nd she posted proudly that she was in the studio working on the last song for the EP.

Her upcoming EP “Scars & Stripes” is set to hit the streets soon. Scar Lip took to her social media to boast ( and rightfully so) that super producer Swizz Beatz would be producing the whole project and that she penned every song herself!

We at the Female Rap Report personally can't wait to hear her new project! We can already tell that the “Making Statements” rapper is well on her way to solidifying her spot in  Hip-Hop.

Something about Scar Lip is “old school” hip hop. Music that feeds our souls and doesn't just make us shake our a$$es.

And it's not just her music we're cheering on, but Scar Lip herself!

Over the last six months, based on social media alone you can see her growth, as she gets raw in her posts, and often shows her vulnerabilities, especially when it comes to her dressing the way she wants to dress.

It wasn't too long ago that she caught a lot of slack online for posting photos that some deemed too sexy for the rapper. Many telling her in the comments not to “change” or be like other rappers.

She defended herself by saying that she's in a place in her life where she loves herself, and for the first time feels sexy and beautiful, and that she's going to wear things that make her feel sexy and beautiful.

Then she jokingly asked if they wanted her to dress like a 40 year old man?

We see her confidence building and hope it continues to grow along with the undoubted success she has coming her way.
