Yung Miami criticised over Best Hip Hop Podcast award win at 2023 BET Hip Hop Awards

Hip Hop fans are questioning how Yung Miami's "Caresha Please" podcast won the Best Hip Hop Platform award at last night's 2023 BET Awards.

The relatively new show, which is undeniably popular, only had a handful of episodes in the last year, compared to the other nominees in the category.

Caresha Please went up against more established and consistent podcasts like Drink Champs, The Breakfast Club and The Joe Budden Podcast.

AllHipHop, HipHop DX, Million Dollaz Worth of Game and Rap Caviar were also nominated in the category.

Fans called on the BET awards demanding to know what the criteria was for nomination and selection.

"I like Miami But Ain't No Way She Beat Breakfast Club, Joe Budden and Drink Champs," one fan argued.

Others noted that Caresha Please only released four episodes in the past year compared to the other podcasts which consistently released episodes on a weekly basis.

N.O.R.E, the host of Drink Champs, also seemed to throw some shade with a comment on Twitter saying "So nobody gonna say nothing bout the podcast /media award?  Ok me neither !!!"

Yung Miami responded to the backlash in The Neighborhood Talk's comment section.

"Damn y'all hate me bad but God keep blessing me," she wrote.

Last year, Caresha Please also won the award, tying with Drink Champs.

This also received criticism. The Breakfast Club host Charlamagne accused Yung Miami's on again-off again boyfriend Diddy of pulling strings to get her the 2022 award.
