Sexyy Red not connected to fatal shooting near video shoot
Sexyy Red is distancing herself and her crew from a fatal shooting that occurred just steps away from where she was shooting a music video on September 15th.
The "SkeeYee" rapper is emphatically denying any connection between the violent incident and her shoot.
Sexyy Red took to her Instagram Story to set the record straight and dismiss all rumors linking the shooting to her video production. She clarified that the shooting actually took place at a gas station located across the street from where she was filming.
In her social media statement, she first expressed her condolences to the family of the deceased and sent prayers to the injured party.
She wrote, "I send my condolences to the family of the man who lost his life and prayers for the person who was wounded. But I gotta address the rumors that it happened at my video shoot because it's not true at all. It happened at a gas station across the street from my video set. Florida Highway Patrol and Broward County Sheriff confirmed that the shooting was not on my set."
According to TMZ, an unidentified assailant opened fire while Sexyy Red was filming at Oakland Flea Market. While the wounded person was rushed to the hospital, there are no further updates on their condition.
While addressing the shooting, Sexyy Red expressed her gratitude to her team for ensuring everyone's safety and cooperating with the authorities.
She emphasized, "My secure and thanks to my production team getting all the paperwork right and working with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to hire off-duty's to make sure everyone was safe. We finished the shoot at a different location, and everyone from our set went home safely. Period."
She concluded by reaffirming her commitment to hard work, creating great music, and connecting with her fans, urging people not to twist the narrative and blame her for the incident.
