Houston Rapper Megan Thee Stallion has signed a new distribution deal with a major label while still remaining independent.

On Tuesday (December 12), Billboard reported that the "Cobra" rapper will be working with Warner Music Group moving forward.

And that Megan gets to keep ownership of her music while WMG will distribute her upcoming music releases.

Megan also gets to bring her team of employees, from 300 Entertainment along with the deal.

Back in October of this year, Megan and her former record label, 1501 Certified Entertainment, settled legal matters with one another.

Attorneys, representing 1501 Certified Entertainment, announced that both parties involved had “mutually reached a confidential settlement to resolve their legal differences,” marking her official release from a deal she once described as “unconscionable.”

“Both Megan and 1501 are pleased to put this matter behind them and move forward with the next chapter of their respective businesses,” the company wrote on social media, also wishing her the best on her future endeavours.

The exact terms of the settlement have not been disclosed.

Around the same time as the settlement news, Megan took to her Instagram Live and stated:

“I have no label right now, we’re doing everything funded straight out of Megan Thee Stallion’s pocket,” she said. “The next shit y’all about to see about to be all straight from Megan Thee Stallion, Megan Thee Stallion brain, Megan Thee Stallion wallet.”

She continued: “I’m so excited to be doing something for the first time independent, since it was just me and my mama. I don’t wanna sign to a new label right now because … I just wanna do it myself.”

Can't wait to see what she has in store for us!
