This month British Vogue and fashion writer Daniel Rodgers paid homage to Lil' Kim the Queen Bee herself by featuring 42 "iconic" Lil' Kim Looks.

"The first high-profile female rapper to celebrate and weaponise her sexuality, Lil’ Kim took one squat in 1996 and the whole world changed – and her wardrobe has had a lot to do with her seismic impact on the zeitgeist.

Recall the hirsute merkin she wore to the 1999 Source Hip-Hop Music Awards, or her Chanel moto-suit at the 2002 Grammys – to say nothing of the logo-sprayed wig she wore to sit front row at Versace’s spring/summer 2021 show.

Without Lil’ Kim, there would be no Nicki Minaj or Cardi B or Azealia Banks...."
