Brooklyn rapper Maiya The Don, sat down with her good friend Fannita of "Bottoms Up With Fannita" for a hilarious interview while spilling some very interesting details about herself. 

Maiya and Fannita joked throughout the entire interview and were very open, expressing their vulnerabilities through laughter and playful banter. 

Maiya (21) went deep, and shared about having a twin brother, a sister that passed away at Christmas, being raised in the system, instant TikTok fame, as a make-up artist and so much more.

Early in the interview, the two talked about Maiya being BET's "Amplified Artist" for October and how that led to them repeatedly asking her to be a part of their cypher for social media.

Being busy at the time Maiya passed, when first asked, but later on decided not to overlook the opportunity, especially with her mix-tape coming out around the same time as the airing of the awards show.

Maiya was surprised when she saw it aired on television during the BET Awards broadcast.

"I fly to LA I do the verse on like the plane, I don't remember it, I didn't write to the beat so I don't even know if it's like you know, (if) it makes sense, I got to  LA, went to sleep woke up like 4 hours later, got dressed and went to the cypher, and was like I'm hoping, I hope I could do it, just add a few things to it here and there, you know whatever."

"So I did it I go home that same day cool whatever I don't even think about it after cuz there so much to do. So we go to the BET Awards, like the hip-hop Awards actually, and I'm sitting down and my cypher comes up, and I was like oh and that's how I found out that the cipher was going TV yeah because they said it was so good that they couldn't just not put it on TV"

At such a young age, Maiya has experienced a lot. She talks about her time as a makeup artist and how she hated it.

The “Luv U Better”, rapper explains how she started her TikTok account to get clients for her makeup business.

Citing that Brides were the worst, and her least favorite clients to work with...

"oh I want to look like me. I want to look recognizable but I want to look like Kim Kardashian. You don't look like Kim Kardashian so I can't make you look like you are", Maiya mocked!

"I did a bride she was older. She was like, maybe 43. So she had like a little bit of wrinkles, you know and I want people to understand like skin is still skin you know what I'm saying, like your makeup is is going to be as good as the canvas is. I'm not putting clay over your face, like it's just makeup, you know. So you want all that stuff smoothed out, then you talk to the photographer, you don't talk to me”.

“So I remember I was doing her makeup and she was talking about her wrinkles on her eye and above her eyebrow and I was like, do you want me to give you Botox? I had to tell her, like it's concealer mama, it's not Botox I can't do nothing about that." the rapper jokingly shared.
